Design Brief
Glass manufacturer Iittala requested a concept reflecting the designer’s interpretation of “Northern-ness.” Inspired by the iconic red cabins, this project plays with the contrast between the typical cold Finnish behavior toward strangers [outside] and the coziness once well-acquinted [inside the cabins].

This matryoshka doll–inspired home museum is designed to protect cherished keepsakes. The guided memory selection process encourages mentally healthy “me-time”. The four glass dice can display any year between 1900 and 2100, with digits 3–8 used twice and 0, 1, 2, and 9 used three times – perfectly fitting the 24 sides of the cubes.
