Material + Products

This category showcases hands-on design solutions that bridge material exploration with prototyped functionality. Each project addresses socially relevant topics from mental health to environmental concerns by experimenting with renewable resources, waste reuse, and biomaterial innovation.

The showcased results are achieved by utilising the Diamond Method during the ideation and conceptualisation phases. Initially, a wide range of ideas were created using design methods like SCAMPER and How-To’s (divergence). By means of a Harris Profile based on the client’s List of Requirements, the ideas were reviewed until the most promising ones remained (convergence). Similarly, the conceptualisation phase consists of divergence and convergence in an iterative way of working until the final design is considered feasible, viable, desirable and sustainable.
